About the Role
- As the Biogas Plant Shift Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of the biogas plant during your designated shifts. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will lead a team of operators and ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations.
You will play a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence, ensuring the safety and efficiency of our plant's processes, and contributing to the success of our organization.

Reporting : Report to Plant Manager
Shift Management: Take charge of managing and coordinating all aspects of the biogas plant's operations during your shift, including equipment start-up, shut-down procedures, and process optimization.
Team Leadership: Lead, motivate, and guide the operational team, ensuring clear communication, task assignments, and effective teamwork to achieve production goals.
Safety and Compliance: Uphold and enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Process Monitoring: Regularly monitor and assess the biogas production process, ensuring operational parameters are within specified ranges for optimal gas yield and efficiency.
Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve any operational issues or abnormalities promptly, coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams as necessary to minimize downtime.
Emergency Response: Respond decisively to any emergencies or incidents, initiating appropriate actions to safeguard personnel, equipment, and the environment.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the quality and purity of biogas produced, implementing quality control measures and performing regular checks to meet product specifications.
Shift Reports: Prepare accurate and comprehensive shift reports, documenting operational activities, key performance indicators, and any incidents encountered.
Equipment Maintenance: Collaborate with the maintenance team to schedule and oversee routine maintenance of equipment and machinery to ensure smooth operations.
Training and Development: Facilitate training sessions for new team members, promote skill development, and provide coaching to enhance the capabilities of the operational staff.
Spare Parts Management: Identify and communicate the need for spare parts to ensure smooth maintenance and repair processes.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all relevant environmental and safety regulations, keeping up-to-date records and documentation as required.
Housekeeping & Landscaping: Supervise housekeeping and landscaping activities within the plant premises to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Field Support: Provide field operation and maintenance support to the Plant Manager.
Maintenance Support: Assist in scheduled and unscheduled maintenance works as directed and needed.
Reset Alarmed Equipment: Identify and reset alarmed equipment on plant panels, rectifying abnormalities, and ensuring proper equipment protection.
Operational Efficiency: Identify opportunities for process optimization, energy conservation, and waste reduction to enhance the overall efficiency of the biogas plant.
Others : Perform any other duties as assigned by Manager/Management as and when is necessary.
Key Requirements
Diploma/Sijil in Mechanical/Electrical or equivalent, or poses an electrical certificate of competency A0 or A1.
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia and English;
1-2 years proven experience in biogas plant operations and maintenance, preferably in a supervisory role.
Strong technical knowledge of anaerobic digestion, biogas treatment systems, and stationary biogas engines.
Ability to interpret readings from gauges and meters, and effectively adjust controls for optimal equipment performance.
Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve operational issues promptly.
Strong leadership and communication skills to guide and support the operational team.
Proficiency in maintaining accurate logs and records of plant activities.
Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures within a biogas plant setting.
Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Being self-disciplined, a quick learner and motivated to learn;
Ability to carry out assigned tasks as directed.
